Celebrating Camberwell Climate Champions

A couple of months ago I was asked to photograph some of the small businesses in Camberwell that are taking big steps to improve their environmental sustainability, while also doing amazing work to support the people in our community.

The Camberwell Identity group and the Better Banksides Climate Collective have given them expert help and advice to reduce their carbon footprint, and posters are now up of some of the participants outside Denmark Hill station and Camberwell Green to celebrate their achievements so far and inspire others to get involved.

Below are:

  • Cathy Deplessis, CEO of the Southwark Pensioners’ Centre

  • Alejandra Teixido, CEO of Burgess Sports

  • Marisa McKinnon, Venue Manager at Theatre Peckham

  • Hemal Gill, CEO of EasyGym Camberwell

It was fantastic to meet them all: their passion for their work and positive attitude really was infectious.

If you’re a small business based in Southwark and want to reduce your carbon footprint and help tackle the climate crisis, you can find out more here - there is no time to lose!
